Very successful year 2008
The Association of Major German Exhibition Organisers, the so called GDG, has seven members: Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hannover, Cologne, Munich, Nuremberg. Together these companies succeeded to hit a new record of 1,925 million Euro turnover in the extremely successful year of 2008 (2007: 1,833 mill Euro).
These figures are still provisional since the final balance sheet statistics will be published in the coming weeks only.

But the second tier organisers in Germany also enjoyed a successful year.
Source: Exhibition Companies / KMEThe chart above shows in an impressive manner how well Stuttgart was able to finish the first year after opening the new venue (105,000 sqm); expectations were exceeded by far. The Swabians see themselves well positioned on their further way to internationalise their business and portfolio.
Hamburg Messe und CongressAnother German hidden exhibition champion the Hamburg Messe und Congress company also made a big leap reaching a turnover figure of 78 million Euro after having expanded the exhibition facilities to 87,000 sqm.
