German Trade Fair Presence in India 2009

Leading German trade fair organisers have put a lot of energy into being present on emerging markets over the past few years. In India alone German exhibition companies organise a total of 27 trade fairs in the running year 2009.

Trade fairs and exhibitions are always mirrors of the respective markets. This is why the majority of the German events organised in India is held in Mumbai; the heart of the Indian economy stages 16 German events alone in 2009, followed by the Indian capital New Delhi with 4 events, Bangalore with 3 German exhibitions and the cities of Calcutta, Pune and Hyderabad housing 1 German exhibition each.

The German organiser being the most active in the Indian subcontinent is Koelnmesse with altogether 9 trade fairs, followed by their colleagues from Messe Frankfurt, Deutsche Messe AG Hannover and Messe Munich with 4 events each.

Together with China, Russia and the UAE India is one of the focus countries of the German trade fair activities abroad, hosting more than 12 % of the total 223 trade fairs held German organisers outside of their country of origin.

The concepts of these events are based on the standards of leading international trade fairs in Germany, thus allowing their exhibitors to achieve above-average success even in difficult and emerging markets.

In the forthcoming year 2010 a total of 23 German events are actually scheduled in India, due to the varying rhythm of events.
